LAMP: Walk for Change![]() May 11, 2013 – 2:00 pm Join LAMP Community Health Centre on a 5 km walk, celebrating the rich psychiatric history of the Etobicoke-Lakeshore community. The walk will start at LAMP Community Health Centre, 185 Fifth Street, with registration starting at 9am, & the walk beginning at 10am. We will journey to the Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital buildings, continue passed the Mastercard Centre on Kipling, and head towards the, now named, Lakeshore Psychiatric Hospital Cemetery on Evans. Along the way, speakers will bring the history to life while discussing the importance of community mental health services to those of us affected by mental illness. All members of the public are welcome. This event is being held in order to reduce the stigma of mental illness in our community, and raise funds for local mental health support programs including: Among Friends (LAMP Program), the Psychiatric Survivor Archives of Toronto (PSAT), and the Lakeshore Asylum Cemetery Project. Mimico Village Tulip Festival![]() May 28, 2013 – 7:00 pm Royal York Road will come into bloom Tuesday May 28th, 2013 as this day will mark the 11th Annual Mimico Tulip Festival.
