Internationally, the organization's membership exceeds 352,000 in more than 16,400 clubs in 141 countries. The Toastmasters program helps you develop at your own pace, through a structured program of speeches and leadership tasks. We are open to anyone wishing to improve their public speaking skills, from the novice who wants to overcome their fear to the pro who needs to sharpen their delivery. Our programs cover many different areas of speaking, communication, and leadership; including: Beginners wanting to overcome their nervousness about public speaking. In Toastmasters, you learn by practicing how to prepare and give a speech, and you will receive helpful, friendly evaluations that help you improve with each talk. You can also practice impromptu, or "off the cuff", speaking for those situations when you can't prepare ahead of time. Speaking in a friendly club environment, with helpful feedback, will help you become more comfortable speaking in front of groups. Toastmasters can also help you develop leadership skills with opportunities to take on specific responsibilities available at every meeting. Applewood Achievers Toastmasters Club meets on Mondays from 12 noon - 1:00 PM at 450 The West Mall, Etobicoke, ON, conveniently located near the intersection of Hwy 427 and Burnhamthorpe Road.
