Depending on the night, dinner at Grappa Ristorante in Etobicoke could be a lively and boisterous affair or a very quiet and elegant evening. One thing is definitive, it is always an excellent night for your palate.
Grappa Restaurant, or Grappa Ristorante officially, is located at 690 The Queensway just East of Royal York. It is one of those places where the hard work in the kitchen and the wait staff comes off as effortless. The classy and elegant dining room handles romantic dinners for two or special occasions being celebrated by twenty. You should make reservations as on our most recent visit the lineup for a table was quite long. Nothing feels better than realizing how smart you were by making reservations. We like to arrive a bit little earlier than our reservation time and take in a cocktail at the bar or sit by the fireplace.
The family-owned Grappa Restaurant serves up a great selection of Italian dishes. Begin with a light appetizer such as the Caprese Salad or Carpaccio to ease into the heartier “Primi” (usually a pasta) and “Secondi” (usually a meat or fish) once they arrive. You can go with a straight pasta dish such as their delicious Gnocchi Gorgonzola or try a seafood pasta such as the Penne Puttanesca complete with tiger shrimp. For the meat selection we usually alternate between the pan seared Atlantic salmon or their delicious espresso rubbed beef short ribs.
Grappa Restaurant is a favourite of many here in Etobicoke and it’s easy to see why. It’s an excellent Italian meal served up by staff who seem happy to serve it to you.
