Science Rendezvous is a FREE, all day science festival where attendees get a chance to meet with researchers, participate in hands-on-experiments and see amazing scientific demonstrations.

· Student volunteers lead activities based in anatomy, neuroscience, health & fitness, memory, and forensic science, and much more!

· This year’s theme is FULL STEAM AHEAD, Inserting Art into STEM to showcase the beauty in Science Technology Engineering & Math that we all see every day.

· Attendees of all ages (0 to 99+ are welcome!), will have the chance to look at models of muscles, fat, the brain, heart and lungs, assess fitness levels through interactive exercises, learn more about facial recognition and optical illusions, and even gather evidence from a crime scene.

Doors Open Toronto is being held the weekend of May 26th and 27th, 2018. More than 130 architecturally, historically, culturally and socially significant buildings will open their doors for the weekend and highlight the people who built our city. The best part is that it's all for free! If you don't want to head to downtown Toronto Saturday or Sunday you'll be pleased to hear that Etobicoke is home to some very signficant buildings and is participating in Doors Open Toronto. Visit Montgomery's Inn, Applewood The Shaver Homestead, and many more. Most buildings are open from mid-morning to late afternoon.

The 9th Annual Spring Bird Festival takes place Saturday May 26th 2018 at Colonel Sam Smith Park and the number of visitors who attend grows each year. Put on by Parks, Forestry, and Recreation, this is a fun-filled morning that is perfect for the entire family. There will be activities, crafts and games, displays, and a backyard habitat building workshop. But wait there’s more! They’ll have reptiles and amphibians for the young ones to marvel at, art workshops, and photography clinics. We’re hoping for fantastic weather as it’s a day not to be missed.

Doors Open Toronto - Film History of the Lakeshore Grounds

Visitors will experience exclusive access to the filming locations of hit movies and local favourite television series alike through a unique, self-guided tour around the historic grounds. The tour will feature buildings and underground tunnels of Humber College’s Lakeshore campus and the City of Toronto’s Assembly Hall. Following a “map-to-the-stars,” visitors will be directed to animated stations where film secrets, behind-the-scenes insights, and location details will be revealed. Access will also be granted to a photography exhibit of film scenes running the length of the oldest section of the underground tunnels. Among the films and television shows to be highlighted are cult-classics “Police Academy” and “Strange Brew”, local favourites “Echoes in the Darkness” and “Night Heat”, and recent blockbusters “Suicide Squad” and “The Handmaid’s Tale”.
