If you’re a casual golfer like me the prospects of spending 5 hours on a course at $100 a round sound dim. Cut the time in half and knock off two-thirds of the price on a decent course, Centennial Park Golf Centre has my attention.
Centennial Park Golf Centre, located on the northern end of Centennial park, is perfect for the scratch golfer who doesn’t want to spend the entire morning (and afternoon) on the course. It is a 27 hole, par 4 and par 3 course so you will not need to bring your drivers. For those that are a bit more demanding for a “full” course with proper greens, Centennial might not be on par (pun intended) with Etobicoke’s other golf courses such as St. George’s or Markland Wood but it is still played by amateurs and advanced golfers alike. Rates range between $30 and $35 with special 9-hole and twilight rates. There is also a yearly membership if you live to play.
Centennial Park Golf Centre also offers a driving range, a chipping green, and a putting green. A clubhouse which features a pro shop and licensed patio. You can also bring the kids and play the very fun mini-golf course. It is also very easy to get to. It has also been voted number #1 course by Etobicoke Guardian readers.
If you work in Etobicoke, or even if you don’t, and want to cut work a bit early to shoot a round, Centennial Park Golf Centre is perfect for you. FORE!
