I sometimes feel no one is more harsh than yours truly when judging a restaurant that serves Italian dishes, the same food I consider myself an expert on. Truth be told, most Italian upscale restaurants do a great job, but those on the opposite scale, well, not so much. So how does Rocco’s Plum Tomato in Etobicoke stack up? Very well in fact.
Rocco’s Plum Tomato has two locations in Etobicoke. One at 1068 Islington Avenue and the other at 164 The Queensway. It’s not exactly how my mom used to make it but it’s darn close. In addition to the fantastic pizzas, Rocco’s Plum Tomato serves up a variety of seafood dishes that will leave you wanting more. I’m usually not a fan of angel hair pasta but it’s pretty darn good here at Rocco’s. If you’re not staying in why not get a veal sandwich to go? You won’t be disappointed. Everything on the menu tastes fresh with the ingredients seeming to be picked from the garden a short time before. The decor is fun and cozy and there’s patio if you want to sip an espresso after your meal outdoors. Rocco’s Plum Tomato has several locations but the one on Queensway is the original. It really is a great spot for either a family dinner or a relaxed night out with a date.
To borrow the phrase of another restaurant, “Hey badda boom badda bing, I’ll see you at Rocco’s Plum Tomato”.
