Every year millions of people around the world take part in the Terry Fox Run for cancer research, named for one of the bravest Canadians this country has ever seen. Join the run right here in Etobicoke.

West Deane Park, located on Martin Grove between Rathburn and Eglinton, will represent Etobicoke in Fox’s Marathon of Hope which is marking its 39th anniversary. The West Deane Park location has raised well over 1 million dollars for cancer research. Amazingly, Fox ran an average of 42 kilometres a day on one natural leg, the other claimed by cancer. He made it all the way to Thunder Bay Ontario from St. John’s Newfoundland, a distance of over 5,300 kilometres, before his illness forced him to cut his cross-Canada journey short. The Terry Fox Run has raised over 600 million dollars thus far. Even if you’re not running (or walking), there will be plenty of fun for the kids as well as live music.

Donations can be made online at www.terryfox.org or in person at West Deane Park. Please show your support as a proud Etobican for this very worthwhile cause.
