When someone mentions “pool hall” most of us think of the shady, smokey dives from years past. The Crooked Cue in Etobicoke isn’t your grandpa’s pool hall.
The Crooked Cue, located at 3056 Bloor Street West, is an upscale venue offering over 10,000 square feet of billiards and restaurant space. Winner of the Etobicoke Guardian Readers’ Choice Award Best Pool Hall over 13 years running, it’s easy to see why. From the hand-carved mahogany pool tables to the fireplaces to the large bar areas, you’ll feel as though you’re in someone’s cozy basement… if this person’s basement was filled with people having a great time over the many international brews available on tap. Table rates are very reasonable considering that most patrons aren’t there just to play pool but to socialize and meet new people.
The Crooked Cue is no slouch when it comes time to food. Great appetizers, crispy salads, juicy burgers, and party platters are all fantastic. The venue is also great for small to large (up to 250 guests) corporate events so give them a call if you’re planning a company function.
While I’m sure that Paul Newman’s character in the Hustler never played in a pool hall quite as nice as The Crooked Cue in Etobicoke, I’m sure he would have loved it as much as the rest of us.
