If there’s ever an excuse to dress up, have a drink, and raise funds for a worth organization then the Downtown Abbey Cocktail and Silent Auction held at Etobicoke’s Singing Lady Consignment Emporium is it!
The second annual Downtown Abbey themed evening takes place Thursday evening on October 1st at The Singing Lady Consignment Emporium located at 781 The Queensway. Guests are encouraged, however it’s not mandatory, to dress up in their best 1920’s garb and enjoy a drink and great company. Hors d’oeuvres and entertainment will also be provided. Some very beautiful and unique pieces will be up for grabs during the silent auction. Tickets are only $100 (tax receipt issued for eligible portion) and all proceeds from ticket sales, raffle and the silent auction go directly to The Dorothy Ley Hospice.
The Dorothy Ley Hospice organization “is a volunteer-based community service offering compassionate care to people living with the challenges of a life-limiting illness or loss”. The programs “meet their physical, emotional, spiritual and support needs helping them to live life to the fullest”. The services are provided at no cost to those in need but this is only possible due to the volunteers and donations raised in the community.
