Located at Centennial Park, the Etobicoke Olympium is quite the structure. It opened in 1976 and is considered a premiere multi-purpose centre for sports and recreation.
The aquatics section used by the Etobicoke Olympium Masters Aquatic Club consists of a 50m competitive pool along with multiple diving boards. The Olympium has been the site for many national and international competitions, numerous film, photo, and commercial shoots and hosted the 2004 Olympic swimming trials. The gymnasium is a 13,200 square foot, air-conditioned double gym, perfect for basketball, ball hockey, volleyball, or indoor soccer equipped with bleacher seating for 750. The exercise and training centre is 4,800 square feet with hardwood floors, indoor running track and is perfect for martial arts. The onsite pro shop also carries a wide range of athletic equipment and apparel.
With 20 million spent on upgrading the facility there is no doubt that the Etobicoke Olympium is now considered the best aquatics centre in the GTA and will be one of the legacies after the Pan Am Games have take place.

Hi Joe,
Take the subway to Royal York Station. Board the 48 Rathburn and take it to 590 Rathburn Road where the Etobicoke Olympium is located. Ask the bus driver to notify you when close.

We were there for a swim meet on the weekend and we were very disappointed. The washrooms were a disgrace. They were filthy and no paper towels or toilet paper in some of them, the bleachers were uncomfortable and crowded, a portion of the bleachers where the swimmers were to sit were block off because they were broken. People were standing at the railings so people sitting could not see the pool and when asked to move, they didn’t. It’s too bad I didn’t get a positive attitude towards this event. Perhaps more staff should have been on to check/clean the washrooms and have someone monitor the railings as there were words exchanged a few times and even one child tried to block a person taping, while the Mother stood and watched him. Luckily the person taping was taller so the boy didn’t block. Very sorry to have to write these criticisms but thought you’d like to know my experience. We have been there before but never have I experienced anything negative like I did this last weekend! Thank you.
