#16 Stonegate Farmers Market

One thing we have no shortage of in Etobicoke is farmers markets. The freshest of foods picked days, and sometimes hours, before and made available to you. One of the originals is the Stonegate Farmers Market in Etobicoke.

The Stonegate Farmers Market is located at 194 Park Lawn Road in the parking lot of Christ Church St. James Anglican Church. It runs every Tuesday from 4pm to 7pm, beginning June 20th and running to October 3rd, 2017. The Stonegate Farmers Market features local conventional and organic produce, honey, bread, cheese, meats and more. Unlike other farmers markets, the market at Stonegate not only showcases fresh produce but hosts local entertainers and special events throughout the season as well such as Bingo, bike clinics, and cooking demonstrations.

Another great aspect of the Stonegate Farmers Market is the Stonegate Market Money. Funded by donations, Market Money coupons are given to community members who have difficulty affording the fresh fruits and vegetables they need and they can spend the Market Money here.

The Stonegate Farmers Market opened in 2005 and was set up to tackle food insecurity and social isolation issues in the Stonegate neighbourhood and they’ve never looked back. The Market is a labour of love for the community and it provides access for local residents to quality, locally grown and seasonal produce.
