One of my favourite guilty pleasures when it comes to pleasure food is fish and chips. I know it’s not the healthiest thing to eat on the planet but every once in a while I crave it. When I do I head down the street to McNie’s Fish and Chips.
McNie’s Fish and Chips, another Etobicoke institution, is located at 315 Burnhamthorpe Road and it’s been there ever since I can remember. Most dedicated fish and chip eateries are take-out fare served in a styrofoam box with maybe a table or two in the place if you wanted to eat in a hurry. McNie’s is a full-fledged restaurant with a variety of fish and chip options (including an excellent clam chowder). The word is out there too since people travel from north, south, east, and west Etobicoke to eat here. It can get very busy during the lunch hour so a couple of turns around the parking lot may be necessary.
While it’s true we aren’t in London England and our fish isn’t served in an oily newspaper, I’m somewhat okay with it. Afterall, McNie’s Fish and Chips is a lot closer.

My wife and I have visited McNie’s and the fish and chips are fantastic. We recommend McNie’s Fish and Chips as one of the best we have eaten. It is a few dollars more but you get what you pay for.
Thanks for the feedback Ed!
