Via Allegro Ristorante

Who would have thought that Etobicoke was home to one of the best restaurants in the GTA and maybe the world.  Via Allegro is a Toronto landmark and most will be surprised that it is the only restaurant on the planet to earn two of the highest international awards of their kind, the Grand Award from New York and the Whiskey Supreme Award from the United Kingdom. It has also won the prestigious Wine Spectator award for their excellent and extensive wine list.

Via Allegro can be considered a traditional Italian eatery that is dressed to impress.  The dining rooms are elegant and can accommodate both the business luncheon as well as the romantic date.  You’ll be wise to make reservations whatever day of the week you choose to visit, although weekends are obviously the busiest.  The menu offers a bit of something for everyone,  from the award-winning risotto to wood burning oven pizzas to the lamb, your taste buds will say thank you once you’re done dinner.

But don’t judge the restaurant solely on the awards it has won, you should experience Via Allegro yourself and see what the world is talking about.

    • It definitely isn’t cheap with prices ranging at around $60 to $120 per person for dinner. However, for an award winning establishment I felt it was money well spent. Dinner at a Ruth’s Chris franchise may run you just as much.
