You don’t have to go to New Orleans to celebrate Mardi Gras. You can do it right here in Etobicoke with Lakeshore Mardi Gras!
Inspired by the world-famous party, the 15th Annual Lakeshore Mardi Gras celebration takes place Friday August 3rd to Monday August 6th in Colonel Samuel Smith Park and is becoming the must-do event in Etobicoke. Now granted, things might not get as crazy as they do in New Orleans but that doesn’t mean it’s not as fun. Put on by the local community, this outdoor party is fit for families, couples, and singles alike. A variety of cuisines will be available for tasting and there will be some amazing live blues bands and jazz music on stage throughout the weekend. There is also a licensed beer garden for those who enjoy a good beer in the summer sun. Market vendors will be selling their art, jewelery, and crafts while buskers entertain the crowd. As is typical for these types of events there will be plenty to do for the kids such as face-painting and games. But let’s not forget the exciting midway as well. Lakeshore Mardi Gras is fun for the whole family!
At this point we’re halfway through summer and we only have a few weekends left so choose your events wisely. That being said, you’ll definitely see us down at the Lakeshore Mardi Gras in Etobicoke’s Samuel Smith park enjoying the sights, sounds, and taste of this wonderful festival!
