One thing we have no shortage of in Etobicoke is farmers markets.  The freshest of foods at a fraction of grocery store prices.

The Stonegate Farmers’ Market opened last Tuesday and runs to October.  On June 29th the market will host the Etobicoke Master Gardeners’ Advice Clinic where you can speak with horticultural experts that will answer all your gardening questions. Whether you’re a beginner or a pro, you’re sure to leave with greener thumbs!  This week’s musical guests are Donn Woods; co-founding member of Canada’s top international Rock & Roll group Honeymoon Suite, and Cyril MacPherson, singing Country-Folk Songs & self accompaniment on Acoustic Rhythm Guitar.

The Stonegate Farmers’ Market opened in 2005 and was set up to tackle food insecurity and social isolation issues in the Stonegate neighbourhood.  They have never looked back.  The Market is a labour of love for the community and it provides access for local residents to quality, locally grown and seasonal produce.
